We introduce technology and innovative ideas to the fields of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries to collectively foster the future of local food and resource industries.
Our soil improvement business focuses on biological methods that reduce or eliminate the use of chemical substances by cultivating soil that supports healthy microbial communities.
We convert organic waste such as horse manure and processing residues into valuable resources, building sustainable agricultural ecosystems.
In Ibaraki Prefecture, we are cultivating 60,000 plants of peonies and stem peonies (the largest number in Japan, based on our research), without the use of pesticides.
Healthy soil is the foundation of all life on Earth. However, it is now facing unprecedented threats. Soil vitality is rapidly declining due to erosion, acidification, pollution, loss of organic matter, excessive compaction, and salinization.
・We manufacture 'Thoroughbred Miho,' a high-quality compost rich in beneficial microorganisms, using our patented short-term compost manufacturing process (Patent No. 6427823).
・We provide comprehensive soil diagnostics and individualized agricultural consulting to promote optimal microbial health.
・We lead collaborative research focused on leveraging microbial innovation technology to enhance soil quality, increase yield, and significantly reduce environmental impact.
Supported by a healthy microbial ecosystem, we cultivate nutritious, sustainable crops such as melons, sweet potatoes, corn, and tomatoes.
The thoroughbred horses used in racehorse training are seldom medicated due to doping controls, their manure is considered a high-quality organic resource. This branded compost was commercialized in 2019. It solves the challenges faced by both parties: the manure disposal problem for horse farms and the need for farmers to improve soil and create unique agricultural products.
In collaboration with Ibaraki University and the agricultural production corporation "Daichi no Megumi" through the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries' industry-academia-government collaboration platform, we launched the "Thoroughbred Compost Ecosystem Project"※1. Based on the soil improvement technology cultivated over approximately 20 years at the Peony Garden, we manufacture and sell the Thoroughbred manure-based fermented compost, 'Thoroughbred Miho.' We aim to contribute to solving local environmental issues and promoting agriculture through soil improvement and advisory services.
※1 A collaborative organization that creates compost from manure generated at racehorse breeding farms and works to brand the agricultural products grown with it.

We operate the "Tsukuba Peony Garden," a peony garden that has revitalized a natural satoyama (traditional countryside landscape) and boasts one of the world's foremost collections, with 800 varieties and 60,000 plants of peonies and stem peonies.
